The book

After many years of getting about €30 per day thanks to the money offered by bookmakers in different promotions as bonuses or freebets, I have decided to collect and publish the formulas that have made this possible. The result of my experience is the book ‘Mathbet, to win or not to win. The mathematics behind safe sports betting’ (available at Amazon).

It may not seem a big amount, but unlike other methods based on trends, estimates or statistics, the ones introduced in this book do not require any deep knowledge of the sport in which we are betting or an exhaustive study of the teams` performances or about the status of the players. This means that anyone, with minimal effort and without risk, can get a considerable amount of money every month.

With this idea in mind, the book "Mathbet, to win or not to win" fundamentally pursues two objectives:

  • To describe in a clear and complete way the mathematics that govern sports betting.
  • To prove how to make money safely by applying this knowledge to the different promotions offered by bookmakers.

Designed both for neophytes and experts in the world of sports betting (and in mathematics), we will start from the most basic level and, chapter by chapter, we will develop the necessary formulation to learn how to bet as intelligently and safely as possible.

This book will not talk about the psychology of betting and will not give advice on how to better predict or how to find the famous ‘value’ in the odds offered by bookmakers; there are already countless books that delve into these concepts. The book is exclusively dedicated to the mathematics behind sports betting and to how we can use them in our benefit.

The book begins with basic definitions about probabilities, odds, and types of existing betting houses. About the latter, we will explain how they work from the players’ point of view, the different betting options they offer and the way they obtain their benefits. Then, starting from the basic equations that define the possible gains or losses of a first bet, we will deduce a series of formulas to determine the stake to place on a second one, based on the result we want to obtain.

We will raise and solve all the equations step by step, from the simplest to the most complicated ones

In the second half of the book, we will introduce the mathematical description of the two types of methods that will allow us to make money. From the equations that describe both methods, we will deduce a series of formulas to apply both of them in an optimal way. Finally, we will apply all the acquired knowledge to real promotions offered by different bookmakers, proving that each of the methods previously described have a positive expected value, that is, that will make us win money in the long term.

The book has 48 specific applications of the developed methods

The last chapter will collect historical information from the thousands of bets I have placed over the years and describe my particular experience as a user of the different betting houses. Finally, the book will end with a few words showing my personal view about betting.

The book collects the results of thousands of bets placed over the years in dozens of graphs

I hope all the knowledge shared in this book to be, in one way or another, very useful.
